Elton John’s 13th studio album, Victim of Love, was his last of the 1970s, closing out the decade with a total of 40 albums having placed in the US Top 40. The album was produced by disco pioneer Pete Bellotte. Two songs were released as singles: a cover of Chuck Berry’s classic Johnny B. Goode and the title track, which reached No. 31 on the Billboard Hot 100 (it can also be found on Elton’s 2017 greatest hits collection, Diamonds). All tracks on the album appeared on the Billboard Disco Top 100 chart in 1979 as well.
