A collaboration with Leon Russell, one of Elton’s earliest influences, The Union captures the essence of good time piano rock and roll.
The pair trade verses and solos live in the studio while the supporting band adds depth, evoking the 1970s sound for which Elton is known.
The Union reached #3 on the Billboard 200 chart and has been certified gold by the CRIA and silver by the BPI. The record received almost universal praise and was featured at #3 in Rolling Stone’s list of the best albums of 2010.

Over the past 25 years Elton and his husband David Furnish have put together one of the world’s largest private collections of photography.
In November 2016, over 150 pieces from their modernist collection, from more than 60 artists including seminal figures such as Man Ray, André Kertész, Berenice Abbot, Alexandr Rodchenko and Edward Steichen, went on display at Tate Modern in London.
Art is really a reflection of the times we live in, each musical movement from the beginning of the twentieth century, from ragtime to traditional jazz, to big bands, to blues, to jazz, to rock and roll, country music, it reflects a time in people’s lives. Visual art does exactly the same.
